Hi there! My name is Kara! I have a Master's degree in Developmental Psychology and have been working with children of all ages for over ten years! I worked as a preschool and prekindergarten teacher both in Virginia and Colorado and loved my time in the classroom. Most recently, I was the Social Learning Specialist and Interim Head of School at a private special education school for grades K-12. Education and inclusivity is my passion. Quality time with my husband and our cat Archer, being with friends and family, and exploring new places are some of my favorite things! I'm so excited to get to know you and your little one!

These have provided me with a solid foundation in child development and effective caregiving. I am skilled in team management, curriculum development, and communication, which helps me create a supportive and organized environment. In addition, my skills play a vital role in addressing the unique needs of the children and their families. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family. I was a Kindergarten teacher for Loudoun County for the last 23 years! I fell in love with the students and especially the families. It was very rewarding to see students advance in their elementary years and of course grow up. Literacy is very near and dear to my heart. It is so important. I have had extensive training in Steps to Literacy Program by Eileen Thompson and the Reading and Writing Workshops by Lucy Calkins, two reading programs adopted by Loudoun County. I am so excited to be back in the classroom and can’t wait to meet your little learners!
