During the 4 months my son was enrolled @ the Spring, TX location on 2920 he went through 7 teachers in his infant room. The turn over was extremely difficult to the point that my son would not take his bottle while @ TLE because each week he was getting used to a new teacher. Then in his final remaining weeks there a child contracted the "Hand, foot, & Mouth" Disease it quickly spread throughout the entire center. At no point did the owner Suzanna ever post anywhere in the center to notify the parents on a wall or door as it was supposed to be done. It started in the toddler room the as they were transitioning a child from my son's infant room into the toddler room the child brought it back to the infant room. Instead of notifying me that day I dropped my son off that they had knowledge of this 72 hours prior (which it should have been my choice to keep my son out of the school had they given me proper notification upon dropping him off that they had knowledge of this 3 days prior). Not only did they not notify me I had to hear of this from other parents whose children were home due to the toddler room becoming saturated with the disease with a majority of the children out missing from TLE and home sick. By the time i heard the news and went to pick up my son he was covered in blisters on his feet and mouth and by that night also his hands. The health regulations were not properly followed at this location and only certain parents were finally given notification by a letter sent home 3 weeks after the Director and owners were notified of the first case. When I requested for them not to transition my son into the toddler room until this had become contained and under control I was told she was not willing to wait and that my son needed to be moved into the room that day because she was excepting a new infant to be enrolled into the already infested infant room therefore my son needed to be moved asap into a room where multiple children were still sick and covered in sores. After being told I had no choice that he was going to be exposed to 7 additional possible strands of this disease because the owner would not give this time to clear because it was more important to sign up new students then to be concerned of the health of current students and the fact that until this disease was contained no new students should have been excepted into the school @ that time. I was given less than 24 hours notice to either place my son in a room of children that were still sick from the hand foot & mouth or to find other childcare. I found other child care and pulled my son out immediately that day upon realizing his health and well being wasn't the owners concern. I would not recommend this due to the high turn over in staff, dishonest way this was handed by the owner Suzanna and director Toni who continued to lie to parents about the disease being in the school stating it was only in 1 classroom when in fact is was in 3 rooms in the building and children in 3 separate rooms were out extremely sick with the disease.
Being a first time mom, and this being my 1st day care experience, it was extremely difficult to go through 7 different teachers which was about 1 per week, then this disease not being handed properly by giving parents notification. Then to find out the owners concerns were in how much money she could make getting new students in, all during a time that their exposure to the disease should have been mentioned.
It was the most dissapointing experience and situation from the disrespectful way the owner treated me when I requested my son not yet be moved into the room of sick children, then the director Belinda left but they told parents she was on vacation when there was not intention on her part to return. This location was a complete dissapointment overall& the way the seriousness of the Hand Foot & Mouth disease was handed.
