I am the Center Director of The Learning Experience in Canton with decades of experience across a global educational landscape, a psychology background, and a specialty in behavior intervention. I believe childcare today is a science-driven practice, focused on observing and understanding each child’s unique learning needs and modifying teaching strategies to help them thrive — all while creating a place where children feel safe, loved, and excited to learn, in a home away from home! My favorite TLE friend is Lionstein, the scientist. Like him, I lead with curiosity, intention, kindness and evidence-based guidance to help children grow into confident, independent learners.

Hi! II am Debbie (or Deb) and am so excited to be the Assistant Director for Team TLE Canton! I have been an early childhood educator for over 30 years, and caring for and teaching children has always been my passion. I’m also a proud mom of two and a loving Mimi (grandma) to two wonderful grandchildren. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping children reach their little goals and watching their faces light up with pride when they accomplish something new. Those moments make every day special! I’m so excited to be part of Team TLE Canton and look forward to learning, growing, and sharing many joyful moments with our amazing little learners and families!

Hi! My name is Michelle and i am Teacher Assistant in Team TLE Canton. I come from a big, lively family of six people and six pets, so there’s always something fun going on at home! In my free time, I love rollerblading, crocheting, and spending time in nature — especially swimming and going for walks. I also enjoy cozy movie nights with my younger siblings. My favorite part about working in childcare is getting to spend joyful, meaningful time with children while helping them grow, explore, and build their thinking and movement skills. There’s nothing better than being part of those exciting moments when children learn something new and gain confidence every day!

Hi! My name is Elizabeth, and I’m the Teacher Assistant and Spanish Teacher for all ages here at TLE Canton. I worked in childcare for five years before spending some time in the restaurant industry, but I quickly realized that my true passion is caring for children and helping them learn and grow. One of my favorite things is teaching Spanish to young minds and watching their excitement as they discover a new language. I’m so excited to begin my journey at TLE Canton and look forward to sharing many fun learning moments with our little learners!

Hi! My name is Shantay, and I am the Lead Twaddler Teacher in Team TLE Canton. Working with children has always been my passion. Ever since I was young, I dreamed of becoming a kindergarten teacher and helping little learners grow and succeed. I have been working in childcare for four years and have earned my CDA in Infant and Toddler Care. I am truly passionate about what I do and love supporting and nurturing children as they learn, explore, and develop new skills every day. I’m excited to be part of a community where I can help children feel safe, confident, and inspired to learn!

Hi! I am Lidia, the Lead Infant Teacher at TLE Canton. Family has always been a big part of my life and now I am a proud aunt to more than 10 wonderful nieces and nephews, who keep life fun and full of energy! ? I have been working in childcare for six years and have also served as a Sunday school teacher for 15 years, which has given me many opportunities to guide and support children as they grow and learn. I also speak Romanian, which I love sharing with others. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and exploring the outdoors. I’m excited to be part of TLE community where I can help children learn, grow, and feel supported every day!

Hi! I am Makayla, the Lead Teacher for Preppers at The Learning Experience in Canton, MI. With nine years of experience in childcare, I am passionate about providing high-quality early childhood education for children of all ages and abilities. I hold an Associate degree in Elementary Education and have a strong background in Early Childhood Education from EMU. I strive to create a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment where every child can grow and thrive. Outside the classroom, I enjoy exploring new hobbies and spending time with my daughter.

Hello, I'm Nancy! I've got a fantastic hubby named James and a furry sidekick, Barklee Shay. Whipping up delicious dishes and baking sweet treats are my jam. I'm a sports enthusiast, whether playing or cheering from the sidelines. Teaching has been my passion for over two decades, and I’ve got a minor obsession with crafting and, of course, coffee—my creative fuel!
