What's L.E.A.P.®?

Curriculum Designed for How Children Learn

The early years matter more than any that follow. Decades of research from Harvard's Center on the Developing Child show that a child's brain is built from the bottom up, and the experiences children have before age five lay the foundation for everything after. L.E.A.P.® is designed around that science.

  • More than a million new brain connections form every second in the first years of life.

  • Research shows cognitive, emotional, and social skills are inseparable.

  • Warm back-and-forth between children and caring adults is what wires a healthy brain.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does L.E.A.P.® stand for?

L.E.A.P.® stands for Learning Experience Academic Program. It is the proprietary curriculum developed by The Learning Experience and used in every center, for children from 6 weeks to 6 years old.

How is L.E.A.P.® different from a state-required curriculum?

Unlike a basic daycare, L.E.A.P.® is a full curriculum across three areas of growth: language and literacy, STEM, and whole-child wellness. Enrichment like sign language, phonics, foreign language, fitness, manners, and philanthropy is built into the curriculum and included in tuition, rather than added on separately.

Is L.E.A.P.® play-based or academic?

Both! L.E.A.P.® blends hands-on play with intentional learning. Play and learning go hand in hand, so a toddler signing "more" at snack time is building language, and a preschooler sorting shapes is building early math.

How does L.E.A.P.® prepare children for kindergarten?

Children build pre-reading, pre-math, and social skills through the full preschool curriculum. Our full-day kindergarten (offered at select locations) is taught by certified, elementary-trained teachers and focuses on advanced reading, math, and science, along with leadership and public speaking, so children leave ready for first grade.

How are teachers trained in L.E.A.P.®?

Teachers complete 18 hours of dedicated professional development each year, on top of standard state licensing and certification renewal.

Are enrichment programs (Little Engineers, foreign language, etc.) included in tuition?

Yes. Enrichment is part of L.E.A.P.® and included in tuition rather than charged as an extra. Children also bring home enrichment kits from Little Engineers, Little Musicians, and Little Goal Getters.
