Curriculum that develops the whole child

November 2021

Welcome to our November curriculum theme, Happy Happenings

This month’s curriculum theme is designed to boost our little learners’ social-emotional skills and confidence as they use their five senses to discover the world around them. Throughout the month, children will discover assistive technology such as braille, cochlear implants, and hearing aids to foster their appreciation for diversity. Classroom STEM activities will inspire children to make predictions, gather data, and participate in sensory explorations. These cross-curricular activities integrate all aspects of STEM by allowing the children to freely explore the natural and physical world around them.

November Curriculum Developmental Benefits

Week 1 - What do you see?

Children will explore their sense of sight as they identify similarities between themselves and their classmates.

Week 2 - How do you feel?

Children will learn that the word "feel" has two meanings as they investigate textured items and discuss each other’s emotions.

Week 3 - What do you hear?

Children will learn about our sense of hearing as they listen to different sounds in their environment.

Week 4 - What do you like?

Children will share their favorite things and preferences. They will also explore their sense of smell and taste.

Family Connections

This month, our children will be exploring how they feel on the inside and how they express themselves on the outside. They will also be using their five senses to learn about the world around them. Talk with your child about how you use your five senses in your daily life. Invite them to discuss some of their favorite foods, hobbies, songs, and activities.
