I am writing to give feedback for this location where my wife and I have just withdrawn our 3 month old daughter after 2 days of attendance. I first want to start by saying the location and set up are great. We couldn't have been more please by the cleanliness and presentation at this location. The front desk management were very easy and personable to deal with. Management that stood out was Jill, who we found to be extremely welcoming and helpful. We enrolled our daughter back in August 2013 for a start date in February 2014. We had also visited the center a few times including with our daughter to tour and finalize everything a week before we began. Upon arriving for the first day we were greeted by the person at the front desk and walked down to the infant room. Entering the infant room is where our issues began. There were three teachers present and not one got up to say hi to us or our daughter. When we started asking where to put our supplies we were directed to a cabinet that was labeled for all those attending, except for our name. Same with the fridge and the cubbies. There was nothing labeled that directed us where to put our belongings. Meanwhile, there was still very limited interaction with the present staff. Being first time parents and the first day attending the daycare we expected to be more welcomed and have more instruction of what to do. We filled out some feeding/nap information on a sheet and handed our daughter off. Later that day when we went to pick our daughter up it was the same as the morning. No greeting from the staff in the infant room and we were handed a sheet detailing what went on that day. No explanations were given for the coding/information on the sheet. When we asked the staff some questions about what was written down they seemed annoyed that we asked and it was like pulling teeth for explanations. Day two was almost a repeat of day one. We showed up to the infant room, still, nothing labeled with our daughter's name in any of the locations where belongings were or on the clipboard in order to leave information about the morning/night before. Same interaction with the infant staff as the day before. No one said hello or asked how we were or how our daughter was doing. Handed off our daughter, however instead of leaving this time, we stayed in the front office for an hour and watched the video feed to the infant room. Our daughter was placed in a bouncer chair for the full hour we watched. At one point, a walking toddler, who we were told gets put into another room was behind the chair our daughter was in and bouncing the chair uncontrollably. No one in the infant room saw this and intervened. We went to the manager at the front desk and she had to go into the infant room to say something. We returned 4 hours later to check things out and again went to see the video feed to the infant room where our daughter was again sitting in the bouncer chair. Watched for 30min and she was in the chair the whole time. We understand that we were not paying for one on one care but we are not paying for our daughter to sit in a bouncer chair all day. When we went to pick her up that afternoon it was another repeat of day one. No one explained anything, no one greeted, no one seemed to care. We decided to choose another daycare provider after this. Picking up her supplies we noticed that the cream we supplied and instructed to be used at least once a day was never even opened. I would not recommend infant care at The Learning Experience to anyone I know. I hope this email finds someone who will actually care and hopefully change something so that this does not happen to other families in the future.
