PRESCHOOLERS AT THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE® RAISE FUNDS & AWARENESS FOR CHILDREN-FOCUSED CHARITIES NATIONWIDE, INCLUDING MORE THAN $500,000 TO MAKE-A-WISH®
Part of one-of-a-kind philanthropy curriculum, all 157 centers of the nation’s fastest-growing Academies of Early Education host annual student art auction
(February XX, 2016 – Boca Raton, FL) – More than 15,000 preschoolers at The Learning Experience®, one of the nation’s fastest growing Academies of Early Education for children six weeks to five years old, participated in its 4th Annual Nationwide BeCause Our Hearts Beat philanthropic initiative to raise awareness and funds for children-focused charities throughout February as part of the academy’s proprietary philanthropy curriculum.
Tying the curriculum designed to teach the core tenets of selflessness, generosity and giving with Valentine’s Day and American Heart Month, the preschoolers created heart-themed art that was auctioned at their respective centers. The Learning Experience is a proud sponsor of Make-A-Wish®, which grants wishes for children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions in the United States and its territories. Its partner in creating the unique philanthropy curriculum taught at the academy’s XXX locations nationwide, the Entrepreneur and Inc. ranked leading provider of early education has raised more than $500,000 for Make-A-Wish® to date.
“We are pleased to continue to host events at our centers to benefit great causes such as Make-A-Wish, drive change in our communities, and teach our children invaluable lessons of empathy and giving,” said Richard Weissman, Chairman and CEO of The Learning Experience. “In addition to the enthusiasm of the students which can be seen in the art created for the centers’ auctions, we are thankful for the families and community members that participate in BeCause Our Hearts Beat to ensure that the annual fundraiser is a continued success.”
With the help of Grace The GreyhoundÔ and Charity ChihuahuaÔ, the lovable and huggable dog mascots for philanthropy at The Learning Experience, the philanthropy curriculum helps teach children that it is not how big or small you are, it is the size of your heart that matters. Through animation, classroom activities and participatory songs, Grace and Charity introduce children to topics like the value of helping others, volunteering and donating.
